DORA SUMMERS GOODING

Wallace, Feb 21 -- Mrs. Dora Caroline GOODING, widow of Lew Gooding a life long resident of this community, died at the home of her brother, Robert Summers, near Silverwood, Saturday morning at 4 o'clock following a serious illness of one week. Mrs. Gooding had been in declining health for the past two years. Heart trouble caused her death. Mrs. Gooding was born near Wallace Oct 15, 1866, daughter of Elijah and Alfie Harrison Summers. She was married 42 years ago to Lewis Gooding who preceded her in death in 1921. In addition to her brother, Robert at whose house she succumbed, Mrs. Gooding is survived by another brother, Joseph of Tangier and half-sister, Mrs. Alex Henaley of Yeddo. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, 1:30 at Wolf Creek Church near Wallace and will be in charge of Rev. Cornelius Airhart of Crawfordsville. Interment will take place at Wolf Creek. - transcribed by kbz
